Why would the number one car maker in the world be paranoid? Because they know what can happen when a company becomes complacent. Toyota has taken over GM as the #1 car maker in the world, things should be perfect at the company right?
The answer is no. Toyota is preparing for the future and in some cases “paranoid” about what could happen. The process is pretty standard with big businesses; work hard to become number one in your industry and then relax and watch the money continue to roll-in. This is the wrong mentality. Companies become number one by working hard, but once they are at the top they need to work even harder to stay there.
Toyota is taking steps to retrain there employees and even sales people at dealerships who are not their employees. Toyota once again is leading the way in big corporation management and direction.
The final words are: Stay paranoid, don’t ever be satisfied with the results or achievements you have made so far there is always more to achieve. Remember a benchmark or standard is always a minimum requirement.
