With Microsoft trying to push Internet Explorer 7 (IE7) on the market through Windows Update web designers and developers face a difficult choice. Should they upgrade to the latest browser or stick with the most widely distributed version of the browser? Unfortunately Microsoft does not allow you to have both IE6 and IE7 installed on the same machine, so what is a professional to do? Many clients will not upgrade their browsers for years, while some segments of the market will mostly upgrade within months. Since Firefox is not tied to the operating system, it is easy to run multiple version of that excellent browser. There are some stand alone IE versions available from Evolt , but they can cause some problems due to the Windows Prefetch Cache. Enter TredoSoft's Multiple IE installer , a small utility that allows developers to have stand alone IE versions (not installed executables) of many different IE browsers.
